Muslim extremists in Uganda killed an evangelist after a public Christian-Muslim dialogue in mid-December. Konkona Kasimu, a convert from Islam, was known for his deep understanding of both the Bible and the Quran and had participated in Christian-Muslim dialogues throughout eastern Uganda. He was 42. His church organized an open-air dialogue on Dec. 8-12. Kasimu was the lead speaker while the others assisted in counseling and discipling new Christians. Tensions rose on the final day of the event after several Muslims publicly converted to Christianity. As the evangelistic team was traveling to another district, they were stopped by four men in Islamic attire who attacked them. Kasimu died later from his injuries. Police are investigating but have not yet issued an official statement.

Please pray…

  • Pray that the Lord will comfort and sustain Kasimu’s family and the members of his church at this sad time.

  • Pray that the new converts will remain faithful to Jesus and not abandon their newfound faith in Jesus.

  • Pray that the police will investigate the murder sincerely and bring the attackers to justice.
