Two months after being severely beaten by an angry mob, 17-year-old Ikhlaq Masih said about two-thirds of his wounds have healed. The mob attacked the Christian teen after he attempted to help a girl being harassed by a group of men. He said he has forgiven his attackers and is praying for them to repent and turn to Christ. “My Christian faith was what led me to stand up for that girl and protect my sister in Christ.” Masih was beaten with iron rods, and motorcycle chains. Though many of his wounds have healed, he is still taking pain medication. Eight people were originally charged following the attack. Three of them have had their charges dismissed. The case against the remaining five suspects is ongoing. With the trial underway, Masih continues to face death threats if he does not drop the charges. As a result, he has moved to a new village for his protection and started a new job.
Please pray…
Praise God for protecting Ikhlaq and helping him to forgive his attackers.
Pray that he will heal completely from all his wounds and that he will be able to work and provide for his family.
Pray that his attackers will come to faith in Jesus Christ and that the Lord will protect Ikhlaq and his family from further attacks as they await the trial.
