Pakistan Muslim in Pakistan Sets Christian on Fire over Petty Dispute

A Catholic believer suffered severe burn injuries after a Muslim neighbor doused him with gasoline and set him on fire following a minor dispute. Zahid Morris, 36, a father of two, was attacked on Jan. 21 while on his way to buy chicken from a nearby market. The assailant, Ali Azhar, stopped Morris on the street, verbally abused him, poured gas on him, and ignited it. Morris was severely burned on his face and neck.The assault has left him unable to work and has plunged his family into severe financial hardship, in addition to the psychological trauma they are experiencing. Police arrested Azhar shortly after the incident and registered a case against him for attempted murder, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Azhar previously attacked and injured two other Christians in the area but faced no legal consequences because those victims did not pursue legal action.
