The Indonesian Christian Youth Movement of South Tangerang City expressed its dismay over the recent rejection of a permit for the establishment of the Kanaan Jawa Church (GKJ) in the city. The incident occurred on Sunday, Sept. 29, when banners rejecting the church’s construction were displayed on the church’s land. Although the building permit had been issued, residents said an unidentified person hung the banners of rejection that morning. The hanging of the banners surprised and saddened residents and GKJ administrators, who have had mutual respect for some time. The church had previously invited residents to their activities. The banners are seen as a form of religious intolerance.
Please pray…
Pray that the building permission will be granted despite the protests by some members of the community.
Pray that the Christians will be able to share the love and forgiveness of Jesus with the residents and restore mutual trust in their relationships.
Pray that the Christians will not lose heart but will continue to trust the Lord and be His witnesses.
