As Islamists in Burkina Faso attack Christians and force hundreds of churches to close, ministry leaders and their families feel confusion and doubt, especially the women. Over 2 million Burkinabe have been displaced. Christian organizations are providing emotional and spiritual support to ministry leaders among them, who sometimes struggle emotionally. Many women expressed feelings of idleness, as they are no longer able to teach other women or engage in ministry. Their identity, closely tied to their roles in the church, has been deeply affected. Those feelings have led some to question God’s love amid their suffering. They expressed confusion and disappointment over why God would allow such hardships to occur while they have left everything to serve Him.
Please pray…
Pray that these Christian women leaders will experience the deep and lasting comfort of the Lord at this difficult time.
Pray that they will see that their worth is not found in what they do, but in their relationship with their loving Heavenly Father.
Pray that they will not question God’s love and faithfulness at this time of testing.
