Afghanistan’s radical Islamist Taliban government has been increasing its efforts to find and arrest Christians, especially leaders. The situation remains very difficult. In recent months, the Taliban has visibly intensified its efforts to find Christian converts and locate house churches. When the Taliban took control, many Christians fled the country, but a few Christian leaders decided to risk their lives and stay in the country. Some of those have been discovered and detained, and their whereabouts and conditions are unknown. The number of Christians in Afghanistan is extremely low, possibly just in the hundreds or less.

Please pray…

  • Pray for the safety of all Christians in Afghanistan, that the Lord will protect them from being discovered and arrested.

  • Pray that the Lord will protect the few Christians who remain in Afghanistan and encourage them in their faith.

  • Pray that the Lord will convict Taliban members of their sin, visiting them in dreams and visions and drawing them to Himself.
