A Sudanese refugee in South Sudan is facing death threats for converting to Christianity. Former Muslim Mosab Haroon Ahmed, 31, fled the military conflict in Sudan two years ago and put his faith in Christ after watching the Jesus Film at a church in the camp. His conversion brought spiritual peace but immediately triggered a wave of hostility from the camp’s Muslim extremists. Camp residents informed his family members of his conversion, and as a result his family has disowned him and given permission for him to be killed. Fearing for his life, Ahmed has taken refuge inside the church building. Muslim extremists are aware he is there, and the church leader said Ahmed is in constant danger but has nowhere else to go. Beyond the threat of violence, Ahmed faces the daily struggle of survival in a high-need refugee setting where food is limited.
Please pray…
Pray that the Lord will give Ahmed His supernatural peace and joy in the midst of this difficult time.
Pray that the Lord will protect Ahmed and provide for his material needs.
Pray that the Lord will work in the hearts of his family members and the radical Muslims in the camp and show them that Jesus is the Messiah.
