Ethiopia Nine Injured in Church Attack

10/8/2026   (VOM)

In Oromia, Ethiopia, a local Islamic sheikh led an attack on a church that left nine Christians injured. On Sept. 13, 2026, a group of Muslims led by the sheikh attacked Christians during their weekly worship service and injured nine of them, including a pregnant woman. A local missionary lost three front teeth, and all of the injured required hospital treatment. The condition of the unborn infant was still being monitored at the time of writing. The church building was destroyed in the attack, and some property was stolen, including the Christians’ phones.

Please pray…

• Pray for healing for all of the the injured, both physical and emotional.

• Pray that the Lord will encourage these believers and strengthen their faith.

• Pray that the Christians will share the gospel of Christ’s love and forgiveness within their community.
